Harlan Co...???

OK, Ive got some pretty good ideals on what lee will try and do tomorrow

but what about harlan co. in a couple weeks?
i know nothing about them, can someone feel me in?

Probably much of the same offensively, with ball control/ground game. They're, or were, a physical bunch especially defensively. Completely shut down Lee's running game (only one to do that), outside of a couple of runs by Mullins. They used their power game early on, nothing fancy, and just ended up wearing Lee down and then started getting their quick little back Gilliam more involved as Lee wore down. They lose their starting qb and two tailbacks (including Gilliam), but do get a pretty good group a rb's back. Green, #7, played qb against Lee last year because the usual starter was hurt. Haven't seen him play rb since he was at Cawood a couple of years ago, but looks like he's improved. They went 90 strong last year, but had quite a few who played both ways. Looks like they're down to 60+ this year but are looking to cut down on those playing both ways. A well-coached, solid group though.

This guy has a couple of videos on youtube, one of their third game of the season against Fleming County and another against Wayne County in the playoffs. HC is the team in white, in both. That guy also has some of the middle school team (New Harlan) and I think his son is the Lewis kid, there's some on him, I'll think he may see some time at lb for them as a freshman.

HC dropped their opener against Southwestern...appears their struggling more offensively..

I was on one of those KHSAA sites yesterday, from what I remember reading they only attempted 3 passes and didn't complete one. They play Lee this week hopefully our good friend beamer_ball can give us a first hand account (I really hope you go to the game and give us a report).

Doubt I'll get to go, I hope those plans change, but probably will just only get to listen to it.

Their passing game wasn't much last year either, even with Blanton. Believe against Middlesboro they only passed once and completed that for 10 yards...of course Gilliam had over 400 yards rushing in the game and they put up close to 60 points...who needs passing with that, lol. I think Green is the power and McMillian more of their speed for this season at rb (with the departures from last season). I seen in the paper where Green moved to qb in the second half of last week's game and they ran the spread...I can't see him running that well if they do it again.

While, as I mentioned before, they held Graham to nothing and Lee's offense struggled, Middlesboro put up 36 on them with their spread offense with Adams, Roark, and company last year, a couple others put up some good numbers, like Breathitt County and their Haddix-Fugate combo....you had some really good ones in those with Adams, Fugate, and so on though.

HDE preview for the HC/Lee High game. Looks like there will be a change at qb for Lee, moving Bledsoe in and Adams to receiver. The KTN preview has Green listed at qb for HC, so looks like both could be making changes.

Hmmm....over 400 yards on the ground tonight for HC...no lack of offensive production there....attempted one pass. I think Graham may have actually had positive yardage rushing this time around, unlike last year....and sounded like he may have gotten hurt too. Hard to much when they're in the backfield when you're taking the handoff.
